Ester Jane

Executive Member & Project Head - Beyond The Sight

Ester Jane; a source of inspiration for many. Besides being a motivated activist for visually impaired people Jane is a teacher, speaker and a poetess. She started her studies from Idarieu School of Karachi. Being unmoved by the confines, she worked beyond her elastic limits for fulfillment of her dreams. Having a longing for education and learning, she aimed at getting education and to become a productive member of this society. In 2007 she completed her Masters in English Literature and joined in Special Education Department of Government of Sind. Has completed a number of certifications and courses from different national and international institutes and organizations. Ester is a good poet too, and a compilation of her poetic expressions shall be published shortly. She has a network comprising of thousands of visually impaired people across Pakistan. She is a good public speaker and has represented Pakistan's visually challenged community in many national and international seminars, workshops and conferences. Attended 2nd Young Leader's Workshop for Women with Disabilities arranged by DPI, at Seoul-Korea (2005). In 2006 completed 45 days Intensive Training Course, from All India Confederation of the Blind, New Delhi - India. In 2012, Jane attended the General Assembly of Asian Blind Union, and represented the Blind Community of Pakistan by addressing the Regional Conference of Asian Blind Union 2012. She presently holds the status of Pakistan's Official National Delegate for Blind from 2012 to 2016.
